PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG

The purpose of this blog is to give users of the Downtown Houston Public Library some place slightly public to voice their opinion about life trying to use that library.  We will talk about and present photos of topics like

1.   The shortage of proper stools to use the 60 PCs on the first floor.

2.   Security guards and HPD cops who cluster chatting at the front desk or blabbing about personal stuff on the phone while being paid.

3.  HPD officers who claim it is not their job to provide a little security for bicycles where as it is a big part of their job to make library users don't chain their bicycles on posts in their view from their cluster point.

4.  Noisy users of phones and noisy singing along with newer sound devices on today's computers while security guards lounge so far from the PC area they have no idea when users are being loud, even very, very loud..

HPL refurnishes PC room downtown nicely
Over the weekend of November 9-11, Veterans Day, the Houston Public Library staff lowered all the PCs to standard desk level and got rid of the troublesome stools.  A new aura of calm and order now reigns in that area.   Thank you HPL.
